Placement & Programme
What were your reasons for wanting to complete a Business internship programme in South Africa?

Just to get some work experience and to see a new country.

What kind of internship experience were you initially looking for?

I was looking to learn more about the economy of South Africa.

How did your actual internship placement compare to your ideal internship experience? ?

I learned a lot! It was more than what I expected. I got to do many things.

Did you receive sufficient levels of supervision and guidance from your colleagues at your host organisation?

Yeah, I had to work more independently than what I thought. They gave me the space to decide how to do my projects in to do it in my own time. But if I ever had a question they were more than happy to answer and were always available to help me in any way.

Were you given adequate responsibilities during your internship?

Yea! They gave me many projects to get on with.

Did taking part in your internship challenge you and help develop your skills?

Yeah. I guess so. It was very applied work. It was similar to what I am studying, but I also got to apply what I’ve learned.

Do you feel that you were given the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to your local host organisation?

Yeah definitely. They gave me tasks and projects for their future tings. They will use what I’ve done in the future.

Overall, was this international internship a worthwhile experience that will help you achieve your career goals?

Yeah, definitely! The working culture is different.

Would you recommend pursuing a Business internship programme in Cape Town with us to others?

Yeah definitely, going through bridging gaps made things very easy, they took me to work on my first day, the housing was good and getting to work was all good.

In what ways could our internship programmes be improved?

If would be great if you could put the other costs on the site. Like the accommodation and other things so that we know what the real price is. I would have applied much sooner if I knew what the other costs were.

Before you applied, how did you feel about the programme fees?

I think it was the cheapest price I could find.

Having completed your placement and had the experiences you've have, what do you think about the fees now?

It was definitely good. I wish I had more time to stay. I would recommend that people stay longer!

What would you say to someone that is considering an internship here but is concerned about the fees?

Yeah definitely the life here is cheap and you get a lot out of this. It is definitely worth it.
