Why do people apply for Environmental Science programmes?

There are many different reasons why people want to participate in Environmental Science Internship & Volunteering programmes abroad, here is a selection of the hopes and aspirations of other people who may be just like you!
Vera (Netherlands)

I hope to gain more experience in plant science at a higher educational level (for example a university). I am really interested in how plants grow and how they are cultured, especially tropical (production) plants. I also consider a job in plant breeding. I would prefer to work with plants in the lab/climatecells/outdoors and besides that to gain some computer related skills for example bioinformatics. I am also interested in international trade, but my major is applied biology, so I have no experience with this. And of course it would be nice to have nice colleagues to work together with :)

Rotimi (United Kingdom)

I hope to learn more about environmental science with my interest in environmental conservative, I will be looking forward to gain more experience about my vision to promote enactment of laws and regulations that ensures environment protection and conservation including wildlife. Also to have more knowledge on sustainable development which will increase my chances of learning the sustainability of all the skills I will be acquiring and to be able to apply it. My passion for environment has makes me to involve in volunteering which makes me want to learn more about the NGO in other to promote environmental remediation in the society.

I also concluded an international course about renewable energy and hydrogen technology in Germany as Erasmus student. Currently I am working on my final dissertation for my MSc Environmental Sustainability at Edinburgh Napier University. I am looking for an opportunity to gain experience in the engineering and sustainability field. I am open to work in any position that allows me to acquire more work experience related to my studies, and being able to put that knowledge into practice.
