A non-profit organisation that works with refugees in Cape Town to help them gain access to employment, accommodation, healthcare and education.
The intern will have the chance to rotate through all departments of the organisation. They will assist with research relating to current migrant issues and refugee law, the development of programme materials, assisting with the intake of clients on clinic days, facilitating group sessions and workshops, contacting and maintaining relationships with sponsors, fundraising and general administration.
A strong interest in and some academic background in human rights, law and policy, politics or sociology Fluent in English with excellent communication skills Confident speaker Organised and independent worker
Ability to discuss human rights issues at a local, national and global level Legal research Analytical and logical reasoning Content writing and material development Comprehensive understanding of migrant issues Cross-cultural communication Problem-solving Client communication

Full-time temporary role with expectation of 37.5 hours work per week. Summer placement of 8-12 weeks with some flexibility and potential to extend Internship completed on an unpaid basis.
