A private investigation agency which offers biological forensic work for clients to aid in litigation and case development.
Interns will be exposed to forensic investigations and lab work at a variety of levels. They will have the opportunity to gain experience in DNA testing, preliminary survey, drafting detailed investigative reports, synthesizing data, reporting and recommendation of data. Students will learn how to analyze data and reach conclusions which can be shared with the client and used for litigation. They will assist in the preparation and coordination of field assignments to obtain relevant evidence and information to build cases.
Critical and analytical thinker Previous experience working with research and data collection would be beneficial Undergrad or post-grad in related field would be beneficial
Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phases Prepare samples/specimens Project management Problem-solving and analytical skills Research, data collection and reporting Preliminary survey and evidence evaluation
Interns will gain real-world experience to supplement studies. Interns will develop the ability to understand and produce quality documentation. Exposure and experience working alongside science professionals. Interns will develop their ability to use and manage specialist scientific software.
Full-time temporary role with expectation of 37.5 hours work per week. Summer placement of 8-12 weeks with some flexibility and potential to extend Internship completed on an unpaid basis.

Completed or currently studying biology related course at BSc or higher level. Motivated, organised, and possess good communication skills. Strong knowledge of MS Office and good general IT literacy with the ability to learn new software packages quickly. Attention to detail and some knowledge of key laboratory terms is important.
